Car of the month - BMW X5 The 2022 BMW X5 is a flexible mid-size luxury SUV that combines a well-appointed cabin with a joyful driving experience in one attractive package. Even the base models come with a wealth of modern technology and convenience amenities, as well as a silky-smooth inline-six cylinder engine. The costs of this attractive SUV start at 79 lakhs and go up to 94 lakhs ex-showroom, so while it's not a cheap car, it's still a good deal for most people. This BMW is a pleasure to drive and provides ample space and utility for the entire family
Six-cylinder petrol and diesel engines power the X5 lineup. To begin, the xDrive40i grades are equipped with a 2,998cc straight-six turbocharged petrol engine that delivers 335 horsepower and 650Nm of torque. Second, there's a turbocharged straight-six diesel engine with a displacement of 2,993cc that produces 262bhp and 620Nm of torque. Both motors are paired to an automated transmission with eight speeds. The X5's smooth ride and solid handling, as well as its steering, which feels more linked and direct but still isn't quite athletic, are significant improvements over the previous-generation vehicle. In this category, the Q7 still beats the X5, but it's a close race. When you put the X5 into a fast corner, it stays there and rewards the driver with predictability
